President: Dr. PARK Jai Chang ¡V Korea
Dr. Park Jai Chang has 20 years of his journey in the YMCA ¡V local to national, regional to global level. He has been an Executive Committee Member of the Asia & Pacific Alliance of YMCAs since 2002, and a Vice President from 2004 till his election as President in September 2007.
He has been a Member of the World Alliance of YMCA's Executive Committee since 2002. He served on the 16 th World Council Planning Committee, Christian Mission & Ecumenical Concerns Committee and Constitution & Membership Committee of the World Alliance of YMCA's.
Dr. Park has been actively involved in the Civil Movement. At the National Council of YMCAs of Korea, he has served as Chairperson of the Committee on Civil Movement Policy, Civil Society Development, and, Mission and Programme since 1994. He is currently the President of Citizens Politics Movement and also an Executive and National Board Member of YMCA Korea. He has also been involved with the Seoul YMCA since 1994 as a Member of the Citizens' Forum Committee and White Deer Hi-Y Student Club.
Dr. Park is a Professor in Public Administration at the Sook Myung Women's University in Seoul , Korea
Vice President: Rev. Jack YOUNG ¡V Hong Kong
Rev. Jack YOUNG is presently the President of YMCA of Hong Kong. He has served as a Director of the YMCA of Hong Kong since 1984. He was a staff of the YMCA of Hong Kong from 1966 to 1969. He is also a Chairperson of School Management Committee of YMCA of Hong Kong Christian College since 2004. He has also served as the President of the Council of YMCAs of Hong Kong from 1999 to 2002.
He is active on numerous committees and project teams serving the YMCA movement in China , Asia and other parts of the World.
Rev. Young is a retired lawyer.
Vice President: LIEW Mun Khai ¡V Malaysia
Mr. LIEW Mun Khai has been the President of YMCA Kuala Lumpur since 2006. He has chaired various committees as a Board Member. He has also served as Deputy Hon. Treasurer, Hon. Treasurer, Hon. Secretary of the YMCA Kuala Lumpur which he joined in 1966. On the national level, he has been an Executive Committee Member, Vice President, Hon. Secretary and President of the National Council of YMCAs of Malaysia He has served in various committees at regional and national level since 1984.
Mr. Liew is a retired banker.
Vice President: Mr. P.J. OOMMEN ¡V India
Mr. P.J. Oommen served as a Vice President of National Council of YMCAs of India from 2004-2007. He was the Founder Secretary and President of the Mavelikara YMCA from 1969-1981. He also chaired various Standing Committees from 1980-2002.
In South West Region India YMCA, he has served as the Vice Chairperson and Chairperson between 1980-2004. He has also chaired various Standing Committees at the India YMCA Regional and National level.
Mr. Oommen is a retired Professor in economics.
Vice President: Mr. Paul Donald LE GROS ¡V New Zealand
Mr. Paul Donald LE GROS served as a Member of the National Board of YMCA of New Zealand from 1990-1996. He was the President of the YMCA of New Zealand from 1990-1996. He has been the President of the Nelson YMCA since 1978.
He was an Executive Committee Member of the then Asia Alliance of YMCAs from 1988-1996. He was also an Executive Committee Member of the World Alliance of YMCAs between 1985-1988 and 1991-1995.
Mr. LE GROS is a practicing Lawyer and partner of Duncan Cotterill in New Zealand .
Treasurer: Mr. Takao NISHIMURA - Japan
Mr. Takao NISHIMURA was a Member of Committee Empowerment of Peoples and Golden Anniversary Fund-raising Committee of the Asia and Pacific Alliance of YMCAs from 2000-2003. On the National level, he has been a member of the National Council of YMCAs of Japan's East Jerusalem YMCA Exchange Committee since 2006. He is currently a member of the Board of the Korean YMCA in Japan , Tokyo .
He has been active in the Y's Men's International as a Charter Member of the Tokyo Centennial Club and the Osaka Centennial Club, and Chief Marshal of the International Y's Men Convention in Kyoto . He is also currently active in the several other Y's Men's Clubs in Tokyo . He was an International Council Member of Y's Men's International from 2004-2006, and has also served as the Asia Area Treasurer of Y's Men's International.
Mr. Nishimura is the President of Global Management Co. Ltd in Japan .
GENERAL SECRETARY : Mr. Yip Kok Choong
Mr.
Yip Kok Choong served as the General Secretary of the Kuala Lumpur
YMCA, Malaysia, from 1983-1999. From 2000-2002 he was Executive
Secretary for Programmes of the Asia and Pacific Alliance of YMCAs,
with responsibilities in the areas of Empowerment of Peoples, Consolidation
and Extension, Migrant Workers' Issues, and Culture, Religion and
Spirituality including Leadership Development (2002). In January
2003 he was appointed as the Acting General Secretary. He was appointed
to the position of General Secretary from April 2003.
He
has a Certificate of Education from the Ministry of Education, Malaysia
and obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree in Geography from
the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur.
