This International Work Camp is an action response to the Global Citizenship; particularly it focused on working with the local YMCA Surabaya. The work camp aimed to encourage and inspire local youth of Surabaya to form a youth club and develop youth-led programs at local and national levels.

This work camp had two program components; one day for input and presentation sessions for understanding the history and mission of YMCA and to promote the concept of global citizenship and leadership capacity; the rest of the days was working together with local youth and overseas participants to establish partnerships and develop network. Various team-building games were introduced in order to build a strong friendship among the participants. In addition, community exposure program was also included where participants had visited the poor community and observed the difficult and struggling life of the people living there.

The work camp was fun but challenging especially to the local youth to implement their own action plan to rebuild YMCA Surabaya. The YPLD Committee shall follow up with Surabaya YMCA so as to form an active YMCA Youth Group in Surabaya.
