Sub : FORUM ON AGEING

Date : 27 September to 1 st October 2009, YMCA Penang , Malaysia

Greetings to you from Asia and Pacific Alliance of YMCAs.

As you are aware ‘Ageing Population' has been identified as one of the focus issue for the YMCAs to work with in the Quadrennial Programme Plan of the APAY.

We are happy to announce that the APAY is facilitating a Forum on Ageing in Penang with a view to stimulate discussions on Ageing and envisage plan of action towards positive ageing and ensuring quality of life at the later years of older persons . The forum will also be concerned on integrating ageing concerns to youth and children's programmes of our movement.

We request all National Movements to encourage Lay /Professional leaders, youth and women volunteers to participate in the forum. We hope that the forum will give much impetus for our actions on Ageing at various levels.

Attached please find the relevant details of the Forum. But it is still in the planning stage. We'll send another details information later. By the way, please send the duly filled Registration form to the Secretariat ( jose@asiapacificymca.org ) by 5 September 2009
