Dear Friends and Colleagues, Greetings from APAY! As part of our continuing efforts for peace and reconciliation, the 3 rd International YMCA Youth Peace Camp will be held on 5-13 August 2008 in Timor Leste. This is a multi-lateral partnership programme of the Asia and Pacific Alliance of YMCAs in collaboration with the YMCAs of Japan, Korea and Timor Leste (ANJUCTIL). The Camp provides an opportunity for youth to enhance their role and participation in conflict resolution, bringing peace and harmony in communities through working together with the people in Timor Leste. The youth will be engaged in learning and doing peace through work activities. Participants will develop a strong sense of responsibility and their potential leadership in building peaceful and sustainable communities in their own countries. It also aims to strengthen the Timor Leste YMCA, its youth and community development programmes. We are happy to invite National Movements and young people to be a part of this peace-building programme to share, learn and experience rebuilding lives and communities . This year's camp will be coordinated by the ANJUCTIL. We request that al l registrations be sent to Mr. Ishibashi Hideki, APAY Coordinator to Timor Leste, with a copy sent to Ms. Cristina Dalope, Executive Secretary for Programmes, APAY by 10 July 200 8 .
