Terms of Reference
The YMCA Mission is enunciated in the Paris Basis. It has been re-interpreted contextually in the Challenge 21. They beckon us to work towards solidarity and engagement with the community and peoples. Our leadership development has been focussed on Movement Building towards Transformation of Society and achieving our contextual Mission
The YMCA in Asia and Pacific has always had a clear vision of its Mission of extending God's reign of Love, Truth, Justice and Peace to all peoples. Building on our past, strengthening our work of the present, and envisioning the future, we must continue to fervently pursue this Mission
We constantly re-affirm our roots as a Christian organisation, seeking the relevance of our Mission within the context of the community in which we have our being, and to be renewed to take up our role in transformational programmes and work within our community.
The 17 th General Assembly has mandated that our mission responsibility in today's context be focussed on Strengthening Spirituality, Solidarity, Sustainability . We adopted an Assembly Statement that challenges us as people of faith and as Global Citizens to respond to our social responsibilities in building communities, in working for peace with justice, and in fostering sustainability for life in a globalised world to bring love, justice and peace, and life to all.
