41st ADVANCED STUDIES PROGRAM

The Asia and Pacific Alliance of YMCAs (APAY) successfully commenced the 41st Advanced Studies Programme (ASP) in Bali, Indonesia, uniting YMCA leaders from 9 countries of the Asia-Pacific region. Youth Reimagining Tomorrow: Design Thinking for a Sustainable Planet

The Youth Transformation Program in the region from October 13 to 18, 2025 organized by the Asia and Pacific Alliance of YMCAs (APAY). Hosted by the YMCA Makati, Philippines. the program gathered eighteen (18) passionate young leaders from ten (10) National YMCA Movements (India, Japan, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam). Read more

Youth and Experts Gather for Peace Roundtable Talk on Life of Youth amid Conflicts and Wars

In a world plagued by wars and violence, young people are especially affected. To address these issues and promote solidarity, the Youth-Experts Peace Roundtable took place on 17 September 2025 at Kintex, Goyang, South Korea. Titled “International Conflict, Discord, and the Life of Youth,” the event gathered about 40 participants, including youth leaders, scholars, peace activists, and cultural practitioners.  Read more

Regional Gender Justice Program: Climate & Gender Justice

The Regional Gender Justice Program 2025, in partnership with the Climate Defenders Project, took place from September 20-24, 2025, hosted by the YMCA of the Philippines in Manila. Forty-one participants from 11 Asian countries gathered to explore the link between gender justice and climate action. A detailed report will be published later, and the Communique is shared here. 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence

The YMCAs in the Asia Pacific observed the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence. The Gender Equity Committee, in collaboration with local YMCAs, has organized a variety of activities tailored to local contexts. While not all activities directly reflect the global theme, ”End Digital Violence against all Women and Girls” they address pressing needs within their communities. Inaugural Tri Uni-Y Service Trip to Laos: Live, Love, Laos

A diverse team of 20 Uni-Y students from the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong, Taichung YMCA, and YMCA of Singapore came together for a meaningful 10-day service trip to Laos. Hosted by YMCA Laos, this is a first-of-its-kind collaboration aimed to promote environmental sustainability through a "Green School" initiative at XangHai School in Luang Prabang. Read more

Blood Donation Camp Organized by YMCA Cuttack

On September 13, 2025, YMCA Cuttack held a Blood Donation Camp. A team of six members from SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack was assigned to collect blood during the event. A total of 80 units of blood were successfully collected. Read more

An unexpected fire broke out at the YMCA International Centre in Sri Lanka; buildings are partially damaged!

A fire broke out in the early morning on the 23rd of July at the YMCA International Centre in Kurana, Katunayake. Many from the global YMCA community and APAY reached out to the YMCA Sri Lanka with solidarity and support. NCY of Sri Lanka is eternally grateful to all in the greater YMCA family for their camaraderie and concern during this time.
