Formation of a new YMCA Daringbadi in the Eastern India Region

The objective of forming new YMCAs in the Eastern India Region is to Movement Strengthening and extend God’s Kingdom.

By Grace of God a new YMCA was inaugurated in Daringabadi on 23 January 2026 in the presence of Dr. Raj Bolobha Mohanty, Regional Chairman, Eastern India Region of YMCAs – cum – President, YMCA Cuttack as the Chief Guest, Dr. Purnananda Pradhan, Sub-Regional Chairman, Odisha Sub-Region – cum – President, YMCA Bhubaneswar as the Guest of Honour, Er. Alok Kumar Sahu, Sub-Regional Secretary, Odisha Sub-Region – cum – General Secretary, YMCA Cuttack, Rev. Sudhansu Sekhar Naik, General Secretary, YMCA Bhubaneswar, Mr. Joyborn Nayak,  Regional Committee member and the Board of Directors, YMCA Cuttack and YMCA Bhubaneswar.  The Adhoc Committee was formed with Mr. Jacob Pradhan as Chairman, Mr. Ramesh Kumar Pradhan as Convener & Mr. Sanjib Kumar Pradhan as Treasurer followed by a group photograph. Around 30 communicant members of Churches from different denominations attended the ceremony.

Daringbadi is a hill station situated in the Kandhamal district of Odisha state. It is known as the “Kashmir of Odisha”. Recently, it has been declared as a tourist spot by the State Government. With the development to happen in near future by the Government, this newly formed YMCA Daringbadi will definitely flourish, become more vibrant and have a good impact on the tourists and visitors.

The adhoc committee headed by Mr. Jacob Pradhan, who himself is a former MLA of the same constituency and most of the members of the adhoc committee are pastors and teachers. YMCA Daringbadi will surely serve to be one of the most vibrant YMCAs in the Eastern India Region.
