Dr. Homer C. Wu, new President of Taiwan YMCA

Dr. Homer C. Wu is a Professor and Founding Director of the Graduate Program in Sustainable Tourism and Recreation Management at National Taichung University of Education, Taiwan. He
previously served as Dean of the College of Service Industries at Minghsin University of Science and Technology in Hsinchu County, and as President of Christ’s College Taipei in New Taipei City.
Dr. Wu’s research focuses on sustainable tourism and recreation management, heritage interpretation, ecotourism development, and environmental education. To date, he has published more than 260 academic works in both domestic and international outlets. He currently serves on the editorial boards of leading journals, including Journal of Sustainable Tourism and Journal of Destination Marketing & Management, and reviews for more than a dozen SSCI-indexed tourism and hospitality journals. His research has been widely published in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals. In addition to his publications, Dr. Wu has been actively involved in professional training, public outreach, and consultancy projects related to sustainable tourism development and the professionalization of interpretive services.
Dr. Wu also serves as President of YMCA Taiwan and as President of Taichung YMCA. He previously chaired the College Ministry Committee of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan. His long-standing involvement in campus ministry reflects a strong commitment to college students and a deep passion for the Christian faith.
Committed to bridging theory and practice, Dr. Wu collaborates extensively with churches, government agencies, industry partners, and community organizations to develop and evaluate policies and programs. He actively disseminates his insights through conferences and public engagement.
