“Serving communities with care and dignity”
Clothes & Food Distribution Drive of YMCA Cuttack
YMCA Cuttack organized a Clothes Distribution Programme on 17th May 2026 at Dandapadia as part of its ongoing commitment to serving the community and extending support to those in need.
The programme commenced with a word of prayer by Rev. Raghab Digal. This was followed by a brief message of gratitude and thanksgiving by Er. Alok Kumar Sahu, General Secretary, YMCA Cuttack, who expressed heartfelt thanks to the donors for their generous contributions and to the beneficiaries for their presence. In his message, he quoted Luke 3:11 from the Holy Scriptures:
“Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”
The Board of Directors and staff members of YMCA Cuttack actively facilitated the distribution of clothes and breakfast packets to all the beneficiaries. The programme concluded with a closing prayer and benediction offered by Rev. Kailash Singh.
Through this meaningful initiative, YMCA Cuttack once again demonstrated its Christian commitment to sharing, compassion and service to humanity, providing clothes and food to 100 villagers (beneficiaries).

Weighing Scales Distribution Programme for Livelihood
To commemorate the 178th Birth Anniversary of YMCA Cuttack’s Founder, Utkala Gouraba Madhusudan Das, YMCA Cuttack organized a Weighing Scales Distribution Programme on April 28, 2026, in partnership with Love & Care to the Visually Challenged. Forty weighing machines were distributed to 40 visually impaired families, enabling them to earn a modest livelihood. Previously dependent on begging along footpaths, these families can now offer weighing services to passersby, who contribute small donations in return. This simple yet impactful initiative transforms charity into empowerment—providing dignity, self-reliance, and sustainable income. Rev. Sanjeeb Kumar Das, Board Director of Love & Care to the Visually Challenged, addressed the gathering, followed by a fellowship lunch for all attendees.
