Vision 2030 in Action: YMCAHK “Sharing with Love” Carnival

Brings Joy and Solidarity to Tai Po Community

Guided by YMCA Vision 2030 and its four pillars — Just World, Sustainable Planet, Community Wellbeing, and Meaningful Work —  the YMCA of Hong Kong (YMCAHK) established four corresponding pillar committees in 2023 to steer its initiatives and respond to community needs. One such endeavor, jointly organized by these committees, was the “Sharing with Love” Tai Po Community Carnival. Held on April 26, 2026 at the Luk Heung Campus in Tai Po, the event was a direct response to a fire incident in the district the previous year. Sponsored by the Amity Foundation Hong Kong, this free-admission carnival brought together nearly 500 participants for a comforting and joyful Sunday afternoon.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10) This grace came alive at the carnival, reminding us that the warmth of a community is best felt in the quiet, everyday ways neighbors look out for one another. True to that spirit, the afternoon featured an array of interactive experiences, including prize-winning game booths, mindful handicraft workshops, stress-relief sessions, and healing music performances—offering a relaxing space for residents to chat, connect, and unwind. Supported by 92 dedicated staff and volunteers, the carnival was a resounding success, filling the neighborhood with laughter, companionship, and a heartfelt reminder of the community’s enduring care and support.
