182 On Fire: YMCAHK Celebrates a Legacy of Love and Unity

Marking the 182nd Anniversary of the Global YMCA Movement

June 6, 2026, marked the 182nd anniversary of the YMCA movement. On the eve of this milestone, the YMCA of Hong Kong (YMCAHK) held a celebration themed “182 On Fire” at its Tsim Sha Tsui headquarters on June 5. The event brought together management, staff members, and representatives from the Y’s Men’s Club of Tsim Sha Tsui to gather as one YMCA family, celebrate its rich history, and strengthen organizational bonds. Staff from various service units fully immersed themselves in team game challenges and joined in singing and dancing to “Y.M.C.A.” and “My Lighthouse,” creating a warm and lively atmosphere.

The spirit of the celebration beautifully reflected the scripture from John 17:21: “That all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” This message of unity serves as the bedrock for YMCAHK’s journey forward. Guided by Christ’s love, YMCAHK remains committed to carrying the torch — serving the community and extending care to those in need. In doing so, it stands alongside the global YMCA movement, which, like beacons across the world, continues to bring light to countless lives.
