16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV)

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is a global campaign observed annually from 25 November—the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women—until 10 December, Human Rights Day. It serves as a powerful organizing strategy for individuals and organizations worldwide to advocate for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls.

In solidarity with this civil society initiative, the UNiTE Campaign calls for collective global action to end violence against women. The 2026 theme by UN Women is “Ensure Justice, Protect Survivors, End Impunity”, which emphasizes justice, survivor protection, and accountability, and invites both women and men to actively participate in building a violence‑free, inclusive world.
