Kamakura YMCA 70th Anniversary Thanksgiving Ceremony was held at Kamakura Grace Church. Kamakura YMCA is the second oldest YMCA after Yokohama YMCA in Kanagawa prefecture, Japan. For the COVID19 pandemic prevention, only the committee members gathered at the church, and the ceremony was held online. A total of 66 people joined the ceremony.

Kamakura YMCA was one of the branches of Yokohama YMCA in 1950, but in 1951, nine young people established Kamakura YMCA at Kamakura Church and started social activities. Initially, as a voluntary organization, we were developing social contribution activities.

In 1978, it was officially united with Yokohama YMCA, and it continues to this day.

In outdoor activities centred on young people, we would like to work hard to develop young people by valuing the improvement of humanity cultivated in the camp, which is also the YMCA brand.

We will pass the YMCA spirit that my seniors have built up to the 70-year tradition and history of Kamakura YMCA to the youths who live in the present.

Being together with our leaders and volunteers, we may contribute to creating a peaceful and just society in the land of Kamakura.
