Celebrating 180 years of YMCA Movement and World Environmental Day 2024

Chittagong YMCA members observed the 180 year anniversary of the World YMCA Movement and World Environmental Day 2024 on 6th June 2024. The theme of the day/occasion was “Make it clean, save the green”. It was an elaborate occasion to bring awareness among its members as well as the general public. In this regard, a cleaning campaign at Chittagong Railway Building (CRB) Sirishtala park was undertaken by Chittagong YMCA members along with its Youth forum. They swept and cleaned the entire park area and urged the public present there to keep their surroundings clean and plant trees to keep the area green.  The Chittagong YMCA also decided that from henceforth they will obverse the day by planting trees at different spot of the city. This year they planted 180 plants at different ground of churches.

The Members then, assembled at their office premises and cut a cake celebrating the 180 years of the Worldwide YMCA Movement reflecting the rich history of community service, youth empowerment, and social impact.
