Visit of China YMCA Delegation to APAY Jeju Office and Attendance at NCY-Korea’s 110th Anniversary Celebration

From September 7th to 11th, a delegation from China YMCA, including Prof. Xin Chen (President of NCY-China), Mr. Zhiqiang Hao (National General Secretary), Mr. Zhaozhen Ma (Associate General Secretary of Shanghai YMCA), and Ms. Xiaojuan Feng (General Secretary of Hangzhou YMCA), visited the Asia Pacific YMCA  Jeju office. This marked their first visit since the office’s official inauguration in April 2024 and the first visit by the new leadership team of NCY-China.

On their first day, the delegation presented the current activities and programs of NCY-China and its local YMCAs. They were also briefed by General Secretary Nam Boo Won on the main programs and activities of APAY under the new Quadrennial Program Plan. Both parties exchanged ideas on enhancing mutual cooperation in leadership training and program development.

The following day, accompanied by GS Nam, the delegation travelled to Gwangju YMCA, a long-time sister YMCA of Shanghai YMCA, to observe community service programs in urban areas. They met with Gwangju YMCA officers to discuss future exchanges and cooperation. The delegation also visited the Gwangju National Museum to learn about the history and culture of Gwangju and its surroundings.

Subsequently, the delegation flew to Seoul to attend the 110th anniversary celebration of NCY-Korea on September 10th. Prof. Xin Chen delivered a congratulatory message on behalf of NCY-China during the celebration. The next day, they held a liaison meeting with Korea YMCA to discuss future cooperation and local-to-local exchange and partnership building.
