YMCA Cuttack organizes the YMCA Inter School Literary Competition (ISLC) from August 1 -31, 2025. The YMCA Inter School Literary Competition is an historical event of YMCA Cuttack being conducted for more than 60 years & one of a kind in the Silver City.

Objectives of the Program

The YMCA Inter School Literary Competition sets up this platform to inspire school students to develop a competitive mind that improves their cognitive skills and vocabulary, inspires them to learn, test and enhance their ability of public speaking. This competition also aids to build up societal harmony amongst the parents of various school as they come together and interact with each other.

Details of the Program

YMCA Cuttack organizes the YMCA Inter School Literary Competition (ISLC) all throughout August every year. YMCA Cuttack is organizing the YMCA Inter School Literary Competition (ISLC), 2025 all throughout the month of August this year. Around 54 types of literary competitions such as Oratory, Recitation, Essay Writing, Extempore, General Knowledge, Jumbled Words, Crossword Puzzles, Mathematics, Creative Drawing and Painting, Pencil Shading and many more competitions are conducted. Thousands of school students from various schools in and around Cuttack City participate in these competitions.

Outputs & Outcomes

Students discover their cognitive skills, public speaking ability. They not only discover but also their camaraderie fosters development of a competitive mind and inspires to learn. This competition also aids to build up societal harmony amongst the parents of various school as they interact at the waiting lounge during the time of any competition.

From last three years I have participated here and the results of participating and competing has helped me a lot, like participating in Oratory competitions has improved my vocabulary, pronunciation, tone modulation and writing skills, the Essay competitions has improved my writing skills and imagination, the General Knowledge and Quipuzz competitions has improved my general knowledge, the Word Formation competition has improved my knowledge about words.

I wait eagerly for these competitions in August every year, these competitions have been very informative and creative for me and have helped boost my confidence and courage. I want these competitions to go on. Thank you.

These events have helped me grow in confidence, improve my skills, and learn the value of teamwork and creativity. One of the most special things I’ve gained is the ability to socialize with students from other schools. Interacting with them has made me more open, friendly, and confident.
