Youth Capacity Building Workshop Organized by Edilpur YMCA
On March 29–30, 2025, Edilpur YMCA, Bangladesh successfully organized a two-day Youth Capacity Building Workshop, bringing together 40 enthusiastic local youth participants. The workshop aimed to strengthen the capacity of young people through learning, sharing, and meaningful engagement.
The sessions were facilitated by Mr. Piking Chambugong and Mr. Monishankor Dofo both former board members of Edilpur YMCA and current staff members at World Vision Bangladesh. Their experience and passion added significant value to the workshop content.
The event was inaugurated by Mrs. Suchorita Hoajong, Vice President of Edilpur YMCA. Also present during the opening session were General Secretary Mr. Bappu Mree, local priest Mr. Bishnu Nokrek, Rev. Romio Chambugong, and Board Member Mrs. Jameli Ghagra.
Day 1 Highlights:
The first day began with an introduction to the YMCA movement, its history, and Vision 2030, presented by Mr. Bappu Mree. He emphasized the global mission and values of the YMCA and highlighted the importance of youth involvement in achieving the Vision 2030 goals.
Following this, Mr. Piking Chambugong led an engaging session on leadership and active citizenship. He discussed about the qualities of a good leader, the roles leaders play in their communities, and how young people can contribute meaningfully through volunteerism and civic responsibility.
Day 2 Highlights:
The second day was facilitated by Mr. Monishankor Dofo, who introduced participants to SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis as a tool for both personal and community development. He encouraged the youth to align their initiatives with YMCA’s Vision 2030 and discussed practical steps they could take to bring about positive change.
The workshop concluded with an inspiring speech by Mr. Argha Mree, who encouraged participants to continue their journey of leadership and active community engagement.
Both days, participants took part in various indoor games, warm-up activities, and songs, making the sessions lively and interactive. The event concluded with a vibrant cultural program, where participants showcased their talents through performances and songs, creating a memorable end to the two-day workshop.
