YMCA Mongolia has been organizing environmental projects these past few years. Recently, YMCA Mongolia has been organizing activities against desertification and climate change as part of Green Heroes, an environmental project. In the framework of the project, activities such as sewing cotton bags, planting trees, and training on climate change are being organized.

On September 25, YMCA Mongolia planted around 100 trees in the Green Asia NGO in the Central Province area as part of the “Green Heroes” project. It was a memorable time for us to be close to nature and take action together against climate change.

We watered more than 100 trees. This was more significant to the participants because it also gave us a chance to water the previously planted trees. Our priority is to be part of the green actions with our youths.

Quotes of some of the youths who planted trees:

Doljinjav: It is exciting to take part in this kind of activity. I wanted to challenge myself in various activities this year. I learned a lot today.

Maral: It has been an excellent chance to make friends and participate in environmental work.

Lastly, we would like to thank the Green Asia NGO, which supports our activities and cooperates with us actively in the environmental field. YMCA Mongolia received Green Awards from Asia Pacific YMCA in 2019, and we have been collaborating with Green Asia for the last 8 years.

We are proud of our youth who plant trees, love and protect the environment. We hope that with this tree planting activity, our young people understand the importance of not only planting trees but also the participation of everyone in creating an environment-friendly lifestyle.
